Ballina will be disappointed with their display but there was no stopping the home side once impressive second row Christopher Gavin got over for their first try early in the game.
Excellent out-half Cillian McKeown converted and they were off and running.
Ballina settled and were well in the game at half time, trailing 14-7, after a fine try from Brian Donohoe, converted by Billy Ruane.
However, the home side dominated the second half, running in another three tries, all converted by McKeown.
Ballina never stopped trying and one particularly elusive run from Alex Healy lit up the night.
Afterwards, coach Jason Carey praised his team for never dropping the head, but said there is room for vast improvements going forward.
