Our Second XV went to Claremorris on Sunday for a Curley Plate match and the home side ran out 39-15 winners in bright sunshine.
Conor Connolly opened the scoring with a penalty for Ballina after 15 minutes. Ballina looked good for 30 minutes but then Claremorris got in for a couple of scores.
Ballina battled back with tries by Jordan Keighley and Jason Duggan which capped fine displays by both players.
Claremorris pulled away at the end as injuries depleted the Ballina side. However there were numerous positives to be taken from the display with many good performances by the young guns who showed skill and determination to the end.
