All the Ballina Rugby Football Club send our deepest condolences to our former President Deirdre Whyte on the sad passing of her brother, Aidan.
A proud son of Sligo, Aidan was a hugely popular figure in the town and always wore his love of Sligo on his sleeve.
Involved in many aspects of community life, Aidan was particularly well-known for his love of music and Sligo Rovers. Indeed, his coffin was draped in the Rovers flag yesterday as he was taken to his final resting place - but the journey couldn't have been completed without one last visit to The Showgrounds where he dreamt the Rovers dream on innumerable occasions.
Our sincere condolences to Deirdre, Jimmy, Ciara and Darragh, Aidan's wife Dympna, children Ross (our good friend from Sligo RFC), Patrick and Claire, brothers Dermot, Aengus, Ultan and Fergus, sisters Geraldine, Grainne and Deirdre and a vast circle of family and friends.
His likes will not pass this way again.
May Aidan rest in peace.
