VICTORY and defeat, excitement and delight. The past weekend has been full of thrills, spills and memories. At home, throughout the land and overseas, the club has been represented brilliantly by players, coaches and supporters.
In Heffernan Park, our U-15s had a wonderful 22-12 Bowl semi-final win over Ballinasloe. In Castlebar our U-17s produced a brave and brilliant display but were edged out 36-35 by Westport in the Plate Final. In Corrib, our U-15s played their hearts out but had to narrowly give way to Galway Bay on a 12--5 scoreline in their Plate decider.
SATURDAY
On Saturday, Ailish Quinn and Emily Foley played central roles as Ireland produced a fabulous performance to defeat England by a point in the U-21 Six Nations clash in Coventry.
Four of our own, Calum Quinn, Luke Sweeney, Paul Brennan and Sean O'Connell were outstanding as the Connacht Juniors were narrowly beaten by Ulster in Enniskillen in the Junior Inter-Pros. The men in green were extremely unlucky to have a try ruled out at a crucial moment in the game.
And, of course, we cannot forget that one of our own, Caelan Doris, led Leinster to victory over Toulon in the Champions Cup semi-final in Dublin.
A memorable weekend for everyone in Ballina RFC.
