Our PRO is on a quest to raise funds for counselling services

Sadly, we're well aware of the challenges facing many in these trying times. With that in mind, our PRO, Michael Gallagher and two friends have launched a charity project aimed at raising much-needed funds for counselling services throughout the West of Ireland.
Michael, well-known broadcaster and singer Eunice Moran and sportsman and hospitality expert Derry O'Sullivan will take on a mammoth walk early in December and are immersed in training at the moment.
If Lockdown restrictions remain in place, they will undertake the challenge in their own localities, but if there is an easing of restrictions they will walk through the five Connacht counties over the course of five days from December 8th onwards.
They are teaming up with counselling charities in the five counties and have already announced Mindspace as their Mayo partner. These services are under severe pressure for funds at present and the trio hope to ease some of those challenges over the coming weeks.
"These are very trying times for everyone," Michael explains. "We're all aware of the sadness many families experience and I'm very passionate about this issue. Counselling services are absolutely crucial and the three of us are determined to help them in whatever way we can.
"We will be walking between 30 and 50 miles each day during our challenge and we're training hard at the moment in order to be ready," he added.
"We have a GoFundMe page running for the past four days and we've already been blown away by the support it has received. We're hoping for individuals and businesses to donate and also follow our progress on our social media pages - Facebook at Walk ForLife and Twitter at @walkforlife1
Our GoFundMe page can be found at https://gf.me/u/y42i7h

We wish Michael, Eunice and Derry the very best of luck over the coming weeks.
