Great pride as Dave reaches 200 caps

The result didn't go Connacht's way on Friday night when they were beaten by Leinster in the final URC match of the league phase, but there was a lot to celebrate for everyone associated with Ballina RFC in general and Dave Heffernan in particular.
Dave played for Connacht for the 200th time on Friday night in front of his family and many friends who had traveled from Ballina to witness the special evening.
We are all extremely proud of Dave and our chairman, Alan Rowe, spoke for all of us when explaining the joy we all felt on Friday night.
"We're all very proud of David. He's an inspiration to everyone in the club, from our thriving Minis to our most experienced members. He came through the ranks here in Heffernan Park, a pitch named after his grandfather, Ivan, and is very proud of his home club. David can regularly be found here helping the younger generation develop in the game and we're absolutely delighted to see him reach the 200 cap milestone. He has worn the green of Ireland and represented himself, his family and his club magnificently over the years. We look forward to watching David achieve many more great things in the coming years."
