Our mighty men need us on Saturday

Our mighty song tells us to pull together in all kinds of weather and to never, ever show the white feather.
In the past few weeks the mighty men of our senior squad have been living up to those words in the finest of fashion.
The pride of playing All Ireland League rugby runs deep in Ballina Rugby Football Club and the performances of our squad in recent weeks have underlined that fact, never more so than last Saturday.
Omagh, a team also scrapping for their lives, came to town for a blockbuster and started brilliantly. The Tyrone men were 12-0 up in as many minutes and everything seemed to be going their way, but Ballina settled and tries from Jordan Mills and Bradley Nealon allied to some fine kicking from Darragh Whyte left Ballina 15-12 clear at the interval.
The second half was going to be crucial in the destiny of both sides and Ballina went and grabbed the initiative. Cian Quinn went over for a try after 50 minutes and when Whyte added the conversion the lead was stretched to 22-12. Things got even better four minutes later when Alex Corduff got across the whitewash and the subsequent conversion from Whyte left 17 points between the teams, 29-12.
It was looking good for Ballina at that stage but Omagh are fighting for survival and showed tremendous resilience to drive forward for two tries to close the gap to just seven with time ticking away.
The Ulster men already had secured a bonus-point for scoring four tries but were determined to add at least one more by keeping the gap as it was. Ballina had other ideas however, and when Whyte knocked over a penalty four minutes from the end the gap was stretched to 32-22 and a crucial win had been secured.
Now, all eyes turn towards Saturday's match in Clogher Valley. Our mighty young men have brought their drive for survival to the very last day. They're a credit to our great club and deserve our most fervent support on Saturday. We need everyone in Clogher Valley on Saturday. Let's do this!

[b]So boys pull together in all kinds of weather
Don't show the white feather wherever you go
Be like a brother and love one another
Like stout hearted men from the County Mayo
