Harry selected for Connacht Academy Squad

He was on the Heffernan Park grass just days after he took his first step, now Harry West is a bright prospect, playing for Ireland U20s and part of Connacht Rugby's new Academy squad.
The young Ballina man is the epitome of the Connacht mantra of 'Grassroots to Green Shirts' - linking club, province and nation together in an breakable sporting bond.
Harry is very proud of his club and we're exceptionally proud of him.
His progression is another step on the journey Ballina RFC is on. We are proud our community; proud of our people and hugely determined to provide the best coaching, fun and facilities for everyone in our area from the tip the Mullet Peninsula to the Ox Mountains and from the ocean in West Sligo to the plains of East Mayo.
Our HQ in our wonderful town of Ballina is a welcoming, happy place where people of all ages can come and enjoy the great game of rugby as players, supporters or volunteers.
The 'Grassroots to Green Shirts' journey needs everyone working together for the benefit of all and we like to think we're fulfilling that objective in Ballina.
News came through of Harry's call-up to the 13-man Academy Squad this week and it is a well-deserved progression for a very fine player and a very fine young man.
He is one of six Year 1 additions to the Academy, including U20 Six Nations winner Matthew Devine and his brother John, both of whom came through the ranks at Garbally College and Ballinasloe RFC.
Also included are a trio of Ireland U20 Six Nations winners – Daniel Hawkshaw (brother of new Pro arrival David Hawkshaw), Oisin Michel and Leitrim native Shane Mallon.
Congratulations Harry. We're very proud of you and your achievements. We would also like to congratulate all the coaches, teammates and supporters who have helped make this day possible.
