Now, Gerry has added a new talent to his CV after unveiling his skills as a lock-smith after yesterday's win over Instonians.
As excitement danced in the air and the supporters headed for the clubhouse, the aftermatch interviews were taking place.
Smokey Kelly was giving his views on the great win in the Changing/Media room at the end of the corridor. A member of management who will go unnamed (G'man JP) left the room at speed and shut the door powerfully behind him.
When the interview was over, Smokey moved towards the door and a well-earned shower but soon realised that there was no escape - the door had jammed. Several swarthy men gathered in the corridor and tried to budge the door but nothing was happening.
Smokey and the interviewer were assessing their chances of escape through the one window in the room as shoulders were readied for an assault on the dodgy door by the crowd gathered outside.
Then, Gerry Maye arrived, had a quick look at the offending door and within moments, he had released the two hostages in the Media room. This man's talents know no bounds! Well done buddy!
