Ballina RFC legend John Rush enjoyed another memorable day at Enniscrone Golf Club last
weekend, winning President Joe Quinn’s Prize with an impressive gross score of 82 to finish
on a superb net 67.
Despite the difficult conditions, with the wind howling and rain sweeping across the world-class course, sharp-shooting John delivered an excellent round to secure the prestigious prize.
John is a legend of Ballina RFC, having played for the club and continued to contribute
enormously over many years. When it comes to looking after our clubhouse and grounds—and everything else that needs to be done—John is never far away.
John is certainly no stranger to golfing success. Having previously won the Captain’s
Prize—and even secured a memorable hole-in-one along the way—he can now add the
President’s Prize to an increasingly impressive trophy cabinet.
Club Chairman Alan Rowe and Club President Richard West joined John at Heffernan Park to watch our Senior Men preparing for the start of their competitive season this weekend—and were overheard asking the President’s Prize winner for a few golf swing tips! Ballina travel to face Westport RFC in the Cawley Cup, with kick-off at 7pm at Joe McGovern Park in Westport.
Everyone at Ballina RFC congratulates John on another fantastic achievement. A legend on
the rugby pitch, an outstanding servant to the club and clearly just as formidable on the golf course!
