TOMORROW is a momentous day for sport in our great community. Three local school teams contest Connacht GAA Post Primary Schools finals and we're sending our best wishes to all involved.
Ballina RFC President, Daragh Quinn was rich in his praise for all involved and said he's hoping all three can bring home silverware.
"Sport is wonderful and to have three of the local schools in Connacht finals is very special. Many of the lads involved play here with us in Ballina RFC and we'll be in Bonniconlon and Bekan tomorrow roaring them on. As with all teams, the players do the business on the pitch and they've been exceptional all year, and we also can never forget the contribution of families, coaches and school communities in the great success.
"Best of luck to St Muredach's, Gortnor Abbey and St Tiernan's - it will be a very special day for all involved. Enjoy every second."
The D Final between St Tiernan's and St Brendan's Belmullet takes place in Bonniconlon at 12 noon tomorrow.
The C Final between Gortnor Abbey and Balla Secondary School throw-in at 3.30pm at The Connacht Centre of Excellence and that will be followed by the A Final between St Muredach's and St Gerald's at 5.30pm.
