Brilliant work at all levels

As the new season comes into view, work is continuing at great pace throughout the club.

Work on our new pitch is progressing well in the hope it will be ready for the 2019 - 2020 season and the most noticeable new addition is our fencing

The spectator fence, in line with IRFU regulations, was installed earlier in the month by JNC fencing

Luckily we were blessed with good weather and the JNC team got the job done in quick time with no damage to the pitch

The fence, and indeed the pitch, was part funded by the club and by a 2017 Sports Capital Grant of €11,000 which along with the previous 2015 Sports Capital Grant of €55,000, has enabled us to develop the pitch to this level. We are grateful for all the fundraising to get us to this stage.

The pitch is now taking shape and we have our fingers crossed that our application to the 2018 Round of the Sports Capital Grant will be successful and will enable us to complete the pitch and surrounds in the coming months.

Many thanks must go to Minister Michael Ring for his assistance and advice in the Sports Capital Grant process and we were delighted to welcome him to the club to see the work at our last home match of the season in April

Thanks as always to our club officials and volunteers who work tirelessly to develop the club .

In relation to the fencing, thanks must go to the previous president Martin Boland, who along with Enda Jones and Sandra Cribben were a great help in planning for the work before JNC fencing came onsite.

Thanks also to Chris O'Neill and the CE team at the club for assisting the contractors during their stay and ensuring the construction phase passed off smoothly

The next step is getting advertising sponsorship boards for surrounding the pitch - this project is again volunteer-led and is ably headed up by current president John Rush and Rory Quinn - spaces are still available and to get involved contact either John or Rory
