There is great delight in Heffernan Park as news spreads of an international call-up for our own Nina McVann.
The talented teen has been selected for the Irish Sevens side and all at Ballina RFC are very proud.
This evening, Deirdre Whyte, Girls Rugby Co-ordinator said that Nina's selection is another wonderful step forward for the club. "We're all so proud of Nina. To see one of our own selected for Ireland is very special and it's no more than she deserves. We have so many wonderful girls here in the club and Nina's call-up will be a mighty inspiration for all. Nina has come all the way through the various levels of the club and it's one of the greatest stories possible for what we're all doing here at Ballina Rugby Club," Deirdre added.
All at BRFC send heartiest congratulations to Nina and her family. The McVanns have been, and are, immersed in the club at every level and there is genuine delight throughout the community at Nina's international recognition.
This is a great day for the entire Ballina RFC family and we're all in celebratory mood.
