Great day in Erris

The Ballina RFC U13 team enjoyed a training session in majestic Doohoma recently. The squad has 36 boys and 20 of these are from outside the Ballina urban boundaries with boys traveling twice weekly from Swinford, Foxford, Killala, Knockmore, Crossmolina and Erris.
Families from Erris make a two-hour round trip to come in to train, play home matches or rendezvous with the buses for away matches and in recognition of this, the U13 squad recently trained in Doohoma just south-west of Geesala.
A squad of 30 boys were put through their paces by the U13 coaches on the shores of the Atlantic surrounded by majestic scenery.
The squad then travelled on to the Gateway complex in Belmullet for refreshments, bowling and to watch the Ireland v Scotland match as a group.
Many thanks to JT Carey for helping organise this great day out and welcoming the squad to this beautiful part of Mayo.
