Great excitement

Ballina RFC goes from strength to strength and this afternoon we're delighted to announce some very exciting news.
We're extremely proud of the fact that we're a community-based club with players, members, families and supporters from all across our catchment area of North-Mayo and South Sligo and beyond.
With that in mind, we're announcing the fact that for the 2017-18 season, Ballina RFC will be playing and training on pitches in Attymass, Enniscrone, Crossmolina, Belleek, St Muredach's College and at our base in Heffernan Park.
This spread of facilities will allow us to cater for the huge numbers of players in the club and continue our drive to bring rugby out into our community.
The picture accompanying this article shows the impressive playing facilities at Moy Villa in Attymass which we will be using for the coming season.
Moy Villa FC have been playing very successfully in the Mayo Football League for a number of seasons but lack of playing numbers means that Villa will not be fielding teams next season and all at Ballina RFC are absolutely delighted to have been offered the use of the fabulous facilities.
Martin Kielty and all at Moy Villa are determined to see sport being played in the heart of Attymass and we're absolutely delighted to continue our drive to being rugby into the heart of our community.
Club President, Willie O'Connor, is looking forward to the continuing expansion of our club. "We're very proud of the fact that we've always had players from right across our community from Swinford to Easkey and Belmullet to Bonniconlon, but getting the chance to train and play in the heart of these areas is very special indeed."
This sentiment was echoed by Club Chairman, Alan Rowe. "I was in Attymass this morning and the pitch, changing rooms and astro-turf facilities there are second to none. We'll be training there next week and look forward to another great season throughout our community with pitches in Belleek, Muredach's, Enniscrone and Crossmolina as well as our own pitches at the club.
"We also have Ballina Stephenites and Ardnaree using our astro-turf at Heffernan Park and are absolutely delighted to assist our friends in any way we can. That's what community life is all about - helping one another and making life better for everyone.
"We have a beautiful clubhouse here at Heffernan Park and are looking forward to organisations from all across our community coming here to use it for social events. The future is bright for our community and we're delighted to be a central part of it all."
Further exciting developments will be announced in the coming days.
